Wired has an online article up from yesterday about generating electricity from turbines installed in the sewer lines.
Okay, sounds good.
I wonder if you generate more than it takes to obtain, purify, pump, store, supply, pump, purify, and return water to where it was? At least it could make these systems more energy-neutral.
Other cool gadgets at the link include a new way to harness solar energy without PV panels, some promising battery tech, and a brilliant idea for fleets of rental cars in urban areas on demand.
But, how can you beat generating electricity from flushing?
